The Tohoku Branch of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association

The Tohoku Branch of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA) is one of the nine regional branches of JPAA, consisting of patent attorneys with offices in the Tohoku region (Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Miyagi, Yamagata, and Fukushima prefectures).

Traditionally, agriculture, fisheries, and forestry have been the mainstays in the Tohoku region. In recent years, there has been significant growth in industries such as automotive, semiconductor, and precision machinery. Each of the six prefectures in the Tohoku region boasts attractive tourism resources, including traditional festivals, hot springs, shrines, and Buddhist sites. Consequently, the tourism industry in the region is expected to grow further.

Our mission is to provide intellectual property support to companies from the Tohoku region that are expanding globally, as well as to foreign companies interested in the Tohoku region.

Free Consultations

Patent attorneys offer free consultations on all aspects of intellectual property rights.　This includes application procedures, searches, oppositions, and litigation for patents, utility models, designs, and trademarks.

Dates and Times

Consultations are available on Tuesdays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, excluding national holidays and the period from December 28 to January 7.

Free consultations are primarily in Japanese. However, if you require a consultation in English, please contact us using the form provided. In the interest of confidentiality, please refrain from providing details of your consultation in the form. We will arrange for patent attorneys who can handle your case in English (note: only paid consultations are available in English).
